After spending some time in the wilderness, the Winterthur Lions finally have a domestic competition to call their own. The recently-formed Basel Dragons and Geneva Jets join the Lions in the new AFL Switzerland league which starts Saturday 4 May.
Winterthur has the honour of hosting the opening round, which will be held at Stadion Deutweg. The day will commence at 13:00 with a reserves match between the Northern Bears combined side and the Geneva Jets.
The senior teams will contest a round-robin style tournament, playing two 40-minute matches each. The season will follow this format throughout the year. See the full fixture
